Important notes before using the sedex-Client🔗
Before you start working with the sedex-Client, it is important to take note of the following points.
sedex participants🔗
sedex is only available to participants with regulatory authorization and who are registered and authorized participants of e-Government Switzerland. Please contact the sedex Support if you are interested in using the sedex service.
Preparation required🔗
Several preparatory steps are necessary to ensure the reliable installation and operation of a sedex-Client. Please read this documentation carefully and plan your installation thoroughly before installing and starting the sedex-Client for the first time.
Help us improve🔗
We value your feedback to further enhance the sedex-Client and its documentation.
Please contact the sedex Support to share your suggestions or report issues.
Important technical points🔗
Only one sedex-Client instance per participant🔗
For each sedex participant (sedex ID), exactly one sedex-Client may be installed and running at any given time.
It is essential to ensure — both organizationally and operationally — that no additional sedex-Client is active for the same participant.
See section One instance only for further details.
Persistent Data Storage of the sedex-Client🔗
The sedex-Client relies on permanent and reliable storage for critical operational data.
This includes, among others:
- Fragments of sedex messages
- Complete sedex messages
- The status database containing the message flow of the participant
- The participant’s certificate
- The sedex-Client’s private keys
All of this data must be stored reliably in the configured filesystem to ensure correct and secure operation of the sedex-Client.
Since this information is security-sensitive, its protection must be guaranteed by restricting access to authorized users and systems only.
The responsibility for implementing and maintaining these security measures lies with the operator of the sedex-Client.
