Standalone Installation¶
Installer and migration tool¶
For a standalone installation of the sedex client on a host, the installation tool provided by sedex must be used. In addition to new installations, this tool can also be used to upgrade/migrate existing installations to the latest version.
Before you start upgrading from a previous sedex client version to the latest version, you should also read and understand all release notes of the intermediate releases.

Always keep the sedex client up to date
We recommend that you always use the current version for new installations of sedex clients. In addition, existing installations should regularly be updated to the latest version to ensure secure and reliable operation of the sedex client at all times.
Template for silent installations¶
A sedex Client can be installed using either the graphical user interface or a pre-configured response file containing all required parameters.
This method of installing one or more sedex Clients is referred to as a “silent installation”.
The provided archive contains templates for both new installations and the migration of existing ones.
